Nupur Mehta [Biography] Bollywood Actress

Nupur Mehta is an Indian film actress. Her picture was published in the Sunday Times for her alleged link with bookies to homey trap cricketers. She threatened to sue the British Daily for maligning her image.
Nupur Mehta is a one-film wonder. She starred in the 2005 Sunny Deol-starrer Jo Bole So Nihal.

Nupur was born in Delhi. Her father belongs to a Jat family and mother is a foreigner (from Cambodia ). Both her parents are surgeons. She studied from Delhi Public School, RK Puram, and did her graduation  in English Literature.She clearly had stars in her eyes as she tells us she shifted to Milan, Italy, after winning the Miss Delhi title at the age of 17. She claims she spent six years modelling in Europe during which she walked the ramp for various designers.

Before joining film industry Nupur was working in a hotel and casino at Goa . That hotel was owned by Gopal Goyal Kanda, a politician. Kanda was accused of Geetika Sharma suicide case. Geetika Sharma was a co worker of Nupur Mehta in that hotel. Geetika Sharma had also fired an FIR against Nupur Mehta for harassment earlier.

She was featured on the cover of one of India’s first Mills & Boons versions written by Astha Atray, His Monsoon Bride after being chosen in a model hunt contest,last year.
She has, as reported by the Times of India, worked with model-management company Riccardo Gay and had modelling stints in Milan and has been featured in campaigns for the likes of Gianfranco Ferre, Missoni, Trussardi and Soprani.
Nupur has also starred in TV commercials for Fanta and Pirrelli, and been the pin up girl for a Fiat calender. She also featured on the cover of Sportswear International’s June 2001 issue.

The London newspaper (Sunday Times), in a front-page article headed: "English cricket in bung scandal" said it had evidence that tens of thousands of pounds was being offered to players to throw part or all of international matches, including last year`s World Cup semi-final between India and Pakistan.

On this issue Nupur said to Zee News “I got a phone call from abroad. But I took it as a joke initially, but now it has become a serious matter. I am shocked. The allegations against me are baseless and there is no truth in it. Even though I am a big fan of cricket but I have no relation with cricket.”

After a couple of corporate jobs, she says she now freelances with Fulcrum Events, an event management company.
